In the case of Offsec , they want to enter into the Gov market . They can’t sell the product unless it satisfies DoD, it’s a requirement. That’s why CompTIA certs expire as well.

The complaining about the renewal have no basis . It’s every 3 years and helps both : students and cert entities . Regardless , no one is forcing anyone to take the cert . If someone doesn’t want to take it anymore , he can skip it . Problem solved .
